I was raised in Axtell, Nebraska. As a three year old, so the story goes, I pointed to the Presbyterian Church in town and said "that's my church." Shortly after that my family started attending "my church" and still does to this day, over 40years later. First Presbyterian Church of Axtell is the site of the creation of Love Come Down. What a wonderful little church!
During the middle of 2011, I was thinking that I wanted to finally do something with my little symbol. I started looking into ways to get it on different items. I have a CaféPress page for a lot of variety at a high quality level for a premium price. Through the years I figured out how to make a few products on my own. I seek out church craft fairs and public events in and around Louisville and Southern Indiana. Watch my Facebook page if you're interested in finding out where I am during Fair season!
I am a photographer. I thought that was going to be my business but it didn't really take off like I thought it would. The digital age has shown that most anyone can take a great picture as long as they can point the camera in the right direction and hold it still long enough to get the picture. I am a photographer. I thought that was going to be my business but it didn't really take off like I thought it would. The digital age has shown that most anyone can take a great picture as long as they can point the camera in the right direction and hold it still long enough to get the picture. But I am a good photographer. I have a great eye for the right shot. I have been to some beautiful places and captured some of that beauty.
I want to start a subtle Love Revolution. I want to take the focus off of the cross of Christ alone and the sin that God saved us from. I want to get people thinking about the life of Christ – the birth in a manger, the life of teaching and healing, the death on the cross and the hope-giving resurrection. Jesus was about more than just coming to die for our sins on the cross. Jesus was love incarnate. If we, as people serving Jesus Christ, can subtly shift our focus from a torture device to a symbol more all-encompassing of Jesus and his love, maybe we can all start a revolution.
I currently live in Jeffersonville, Indiana. I came to the area to attend Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2003. I finished in December of 2007 after taking a year out to be a Young Adult Volunteer in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I currently work full-time for the Seminary as the Associate for Philanthropy & Stewardship.

During a weekly Confirmation class in 1991, I doodled a symbol that looked great and carried meaning. Twenty years later that symbol's meaning continues to increase.
I created this symbol from three simple shapes. First is the cross, the center of the design and often the focus of our faith. Second is the manger, where we remember Christ's humble beginnings and the Word made flesh. Third is the butterfly, representing the hope and promise of the resurrection.
As an adult my theology changes as my faith in Jesus matures. Jesus, God's human representation and love incarnate, is my core. May you be blessed by my symbol of 'Love Come Down' and remember to show Christ's love to all whom you encounter.
John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh..."
